The last Federal budget saw changes that will positively impact our donors—here’s how: When you donate publicly traded securities to a registered non-profit group like Big Brothers Big Sisters Abbotsford Mission Ridge Meadows, you will no longer have to pay tax on the capital gain. For example, if a person donates a stock they originally purchased for $500 and it grows to a value of $1000 a charitable receipt will be generated for the $1000 and the donor will not have to pay tax on the $500 capital gain. It’s that simple. This is just one more way giving to Big Brothers Big Sisters Abbotsford Mission Ridge Meadows is easier than ever before.
